History written for readers September 8, 2009 Gary Loftis (Lake Mary, FL) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
History is not dull and dry; it is made to seem thus by "scholarly" writers writing in the verbose style of academia. If you struggled in high school or collage history because the texts were impenetrable, this book will open the excitement of history. It is written in a direct, narrative style that animates the story of America's foremost war hero; you hate to stop reading!
Appreciate More The Underappreciated Man April 28, 2009 Benjamin T. Finch (Pavillion, WY) I have always known George Washington was a humble man, and that he was the perfect person for the job. After reading The Real George Washington, I have a deeper appreciation for not only the sacrifices President Washington made, but also the other founding fathers. It describes the basic fundamentals and beliefs of the fathers of our nation, and if goes in dept into the humility of George Washington.
President Washington never thought he was the best man to be General or even President, however, the people loved him and wanted him as our first President of this great nation. This is an easy read and a must read for history lovers.

fascinating August 31, 2009 Dana Christensen This book is like walking with Washington, week by week, through a most interesting time in our history. It should be required reading for all High School students.
A wealth of historical information. September 6, 2009 R. Savola (Michigan) With recent events, I chose to reexamine the intent behind the founding of our country. For that purpose I purchase this book and explored the vast experiences of government, the military, and the mindset of this great leader, George Washington.
Very little of this was ever taught in my public school. This is a historical accounting of his life. His battles, successes, and failures.
Just a part of the 3 book series I would suggest for any persons library. It should be required reading in high school or at least college.
