This book is about the history of American government what for what it was and what it is. If you think you are being represented by the politicians in Washington, you might want to think again carefully after reading this book. There are no lies and no misleading opinions in this book. The reader can make up their mind for themselves. If you are an American and want to remain living in a free country, you had better get off your duff, buy this book, read it and spring into action NOW!

An outstanding expose on where the rest of the world is compared to the progressive politicians of today. Glenn's call to action is a simple and straight forward challenge to each American voter.

5 out of 5 stars Politics for the Neophyte   July 11, 2009

Glenn Beck takes a step back and looks upon our current political/economical climate in a non-partisan, common-sense manner. It is a wake up call, bringing to light the urgency of our situation and imploring each and every American to take the responsibility to preserve our liberty and the fruits of our labors.

The corruption, collusion, illegality, and outright criminal misconduct of our leaders (irrespective of which side of the aisle) has brought our country to the precipice of complete collapse. The politicians will not suffer, nor will their cronies. We will.

The beauty of this book is in its' simplicity, making it easily readable by anyone and hopefully serving as a springboard to get more educated and more involved in the preservation of your future. He does not point fingers at any specific political leader (as I would), so thereby does not malign those that may think that 'so-and-so' is the next coming of Christ. As other reviewers have suggested, if you leave bias at the doorstep, it will not take a whole lot of intellectual wherewithal to figure out that a country that has an annual GDP of 17 trillion dollars yet is creating 99 trillion dollars of debt, has a bit of a problem. 'We' have not created this problem....'they' did!

5 out of 5 stars Start with the Basics - American Milk   July 11, 2009

A modern rewrite of Thomas Paine's American Classic, Mr. Beck has reminded us of what and how people are thinking about in regards to our government. He thesis centers around the theme that our government is out of control. I agree. If you're one of the historically uninformed on what our founders and the original citizens were thinking when independence from dictatorial tyranny was the question on every man and woman's lips, then this book is for you. It is important for every American to know what they believe and why; and how far we have strayed from dream that the original America was. After reading this book, move on to more meat.

Couldn't put the book down. Glenn tells it like it is and recaps all of what our founding fathers wanted our country to be. Excellent reading.
DON'T KEEP THE BOOK.........PASS IT ON!
